Joseph T. Kelly Jr., age 83 passed away on July 31, 2023.
Joe was born in Darby to the late Joseph T. and Catherine (Liberato) Kelly. He was a 1957 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School and proudly served in the United Sates Navy. Joe worked as a Vice President in banking for First Pennsylvania, PNC and Bank of America until his retirement. He also worked for the County of Delaware as the supervisor of the Controller’s Office. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church and avid supporter of the Clifton Heights Boys Club and the PAL. Joe was very involved in the Clifton Heights community where he lived for many years. He served as a Councilman for 36 years and a Mayor for 14 years. Joe made it a point to know and help the people in his community. He had a big personality and always greeted you with a smile. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.Survived by his wife of 62 years, Lynn (Buchscheidt) Kelly; children, Joseph Kelly, Diana Egleston, David Kelly, Karen (Donald) Stewart, Kevin (Kim) Kelly, James (Laura) Kelly and Brian (Holly) Kelly; grandchildren, Joseph, Nicole, Bradley, Eric, Madison, Hannah, Kevin Jr., Argylle, Sean, Connor, Ashlynn and Casey; great grandchildren, Aviana and Kevin lll; sister, Patricia Martin.
Visitation: Wednesday, August 16th 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church 316 E. Broadway Avenue Clifton Heights.
Funeral Mass: Wednesday, August 16th 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church.
Interment: Eastlawn Cemetery
