House fire 25-27 South Diamond Street 4/28/2022

Posted on April 28, 2022

This morning the Clifton Heights Fire and Police Departments were dispatched to 25 South Diamond Street for a working building fire with residents trapped. Upon arrival an initial search confirmed there were no occupants in the building. Throughout the morning the fire companies worked diligently to extinguish the fire. I first wish to thank the Clifton Heights Fire Company along with our neighboring jurisdictions for the tremendous support in putting the fire out. The professionalism of the Fire and Police Departments is deserving of recognition. On behalf of the Borough Council and the entire community we would like to thank you for your service.

Borough Manager Tom Micozzie advised President Mike Humphreys and I that due to major structural damage the twin building needs to be demolished immediately. These concerns were brought to our attention after an inspection by Chief Code Enforcement Officer John Gould and Borough Engineer J.P. Kelly, PE. The owners of both properties have concurred, and mobilization of the crews are in motion. The initial stabilization is expected to begin by 4:00 P.M. today.

Mark Campbell, Mayor I
